These can provide so many benefits and be a time saver for everyone!
From Nikki’s experience, most people think a Salesforce change is quick and easy! Although it can be, she understands that there are many layers involved with business processes, Marketing needs, Sales needs, integrations, …. A simple change can have a big impact, so taking the time to understand the full picture first is always beneficial.
We asked Nikki what a day in the life of a freelance Salesforce consultant looks like - brace yourselves as you might get jealous -
Each day is different, and that is what she likes the most about it! After having a slow morning by going for a walk or running some errands, which she does attribute to being one of the luxuries of not having children, Nikki gets cozy in her office and settles into working on client deliverables or working on her business, OliveMe. She will shut things down in the late afternoon and transition out of work mode with a yoga or pilates class. Sometimes she fills her day with fun activities so she will work through the afternoon and evening instead. She really loves the flexibility and designing each day in a way that works for her and all her passions.
So how did Nikki get to live this ideal life?
She had some prior consulting experience, but she left the company she was at because the hours and the demand did not fit the life that she wanted to have. Coming back into consulting with Emmie Collective has given her what she calls the perfect match: she can work with some awesome clients on meaningful projects, but also get the flexibility to enjoy her life. Nikki loves being able to support and help different clients and work through business problems.
This team member really values the the flexibility and time-freedom she has as a freelance consultant. At the same time as working with EMMIE clients, she runs her own business, so being able to have flexible hours and choose when she works helps her keep her business growing without sacrificing time outside of work. At first, Nikki was hesitant to make the leap because it is a very different experience to work as a freelancer rather than having a typical 9-5 job, however, she realized that if it didn't work out, she could always go back. After being with EMMIE for over a year now, she is very sure she won't be going back anytime soon.
Who is the woman outside of SFDC?
When we asked Nikki if she could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why, she immediately said: Italy! Both her parents were born in Italy and moved to America as kids. Nikki grew up spending her summers there with family, and fell in love with the lifestyle.
Nikki comes from a big Italian family with tons of cousins, aunts and uncles. Her family has been the strongest influence in her life. Watching them come to America with little to nothing, they built a life for themselves and for Nikki to have the greatest one. Her grandmothers are some of the hardest workers she knows, they are both in their nineties and to this day still do the yard work, the cooking and the house chores. Nikki’s father opened his own business at the age of 21 and seeing the ambition, the drive and the attitude that “everything can be figured out” has been what inspires and motivates Nikki today.
Outside of work, Nikki runs her own business OliveMe, and loves to be outdoors, doing yoga or spending quality time with family and friends.
When Nikki met Emmie
The first time that Nikki heard about Emmie Collective is when Lauren Aquilino (Founder) slid into Nikki’s DMs on Instagram. Classy! But Lauren used the Pretty Funny Business podcast account so Nikki had no idea who it was and thought it was Spam - facepalm moment. The two finally figured it out and the rest is history!
